Frankly
Well hello there,
It's been along time between myself and blogs.
My apologies.
Alas Makeda and myself went along to the Frankly Festival on Saturday night.
And boy oh boy were we in for a big sniff of the pop infused sounds of some amazing people.
Just for your information these were the people making the festival ohh so enjoyable:
- Jamie Stewart
- Pancakes
-I Heart Hiroshima
And last but not least
PEACHES!
She came out in a leotard and black tights, her blonde hair partly shaved.
This lady can spin some sick decks and made the powerhouse scream "Fuck the Pain Away"
Makeda is going to flick some photographs up for your enjoyment.

My electro fetish
Kind of thought i'd gotten over electro-sounding stuff... Either that or Rage had an effect on me this morning.
First is Heartbreaker by MSTRKRFT. It's a bit of fun.. i really like the video, and the song is catchy as hell. The song makes me think of summer, and holidays, and good nights, which is always a winner.
Second is Ready for the Weekend by Calvin Harris. He's great no matter how titsy his videos are. i can't help but imagine drunk pommes in Ibiza when i hear this song. It really is an amusing mental image.

MARKET DAY!
The West End Markets...
Is probably THE best place to go on a Saturday morning for breakfast, other than Grubb St Eatery in Gaythorne (of all places).
Here are some "okay" photos from the morning... i really should have been doing my Ancient History assignment that morning, but my theory is i don't need an OP 5 for History at UQ, so i did what i wanted to do, which was fuck around WE and The Art Shed.
Another thing - we all know that BRISBANE FESTIVAL is coming up...
Something that caught my eye was Katy Steele of Little Birdy is playing a solo at the Spiegeltent on the 27th of September - $27.27 for us concessions, adults - you can find out for yourselves how much it'll cost. The new Little Birdy album is really something from what i've heard, but i've always been a bit of a fan.

A reflection of my week..
Spent with swine flu, Hamlet, my mother and one fantastic Nikon D60...

the black and white is a bit of a reflection too - everything seems colour-free at the moment, it's sort of as if school is dictating my existence - which, i suppose for a grade 12 student in term 3, is how it should be. Hmm...
But some things that are on this week that you most definitely should know about as they've had the shit advertised out of them is the Easton Pearson exhibition at GoMA, Pamela Easton and Lydia Pearson are doing a talk tomorrow, with the curator Miranda Wallace - something worth going to as you rarely get to hear them talk, it's at 3pm and i shall be there too. The other fashion thing you should know about is the InFashion exhibition at MoB (city hall), it's on till 29th of November, so there isn't really an excuse for anyone not to go - clothes from
Anyhow, i'm a bit tired - last night i hit this Chinese restaurant with the galllss, also did some shopping and took some photos and met up with a friend for a maccas feast (we only really had drinks, but yeah) - so i might go sleep, or go do some schoolwork - probably the sleep option.
Here are some of the photos from the last few days, last night included - enjoy :)

everything was better in the 70's

It was my mother who first got me onto The Clash. She saw them in the 70's in Brisbane, then a couple of years later when she was living in London. I've totally been raiding her music collection at the moment and yesterday came across some old 4zzz compilations, sex pistols, bananarama (lol), some 90's Ben Lee, "the best hits of the 70's" (x2 lol!!) and Combat Rock by The Clash. A few weeks prior i dug out London Calling, and you can't really can't find anything more creatively fused than this record...
So what i was going to say was, Tuesday is The Clash tribute at The Trobadour. Would love to go but for three reasons i can't - i'm not yet of legal age, i'm going to a formal anyway (the joys of twelfth grade) and thirdly my mother and her crazy mates are going..
Only heard of a couple of the bands - Honey Month - heard a few of their songs. And who hasn't heard of YKB... they've got to be the most played band from this town at the moment. Please go in my honour, or at least, in The Clash's.
ps. changing the name of the blog now, comments, complaints, queries?
Noone even reads this blog so i'm sure the number will be limited.

Roller Derby is on next Friday. Its always an fun night, even it happens to be in a majorly disturbing way. All the way out at bloody beenleigh, but if you enjoy getting an eyefull, fucking be theree.
I'll shut up now.. you know what they say about a photo being worth 1000 words. So i'll give that gift... although really, perhaps its more of a nightmare? For you to decide. Here are some photos I took a week or two ago when i went to see Comic Sans, Cairos, Last Dinosaurs and We Were Arks at Fairweather Warehouse.

good things come in late packages..
Hello there friendly blog viewer,
so i'm thinking (not that i have many viewers - probably none right now, so bear with me, watch my popularity grow), blogs are such odd insights into peoples lives.. you get this tiny percentage of what a person is like - what shit they're into, the photos they take and the parties they go to...
